Penny Preville is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. What a milestone! It was great to celebrate with Penny, her family and team at JCK. We were able to capture some beautiful images and sit down for a quick interview. We have always been fans of her Art Deco inspired jewelry and her use of beautiful sapphire gemstones.

Why is Art Deco such a great inspiration for engagement rings?

Something is often blue at Penny Preville, why do you love blue so much?

After 50 years in this business, I still get butterflies every time I see a stunning blue stone catch the light. Blue has always felt like the color of dreams and infinite possibilities to me and light “Penny Blue” is my favorite color. There's something so romantic about sapphire blue; it reminds me of twilight skies and deep ocean waters, those moments that take your breath away. Blue gemstones have this incredible ability to make any woman's eyes sparkle, and they represent loyalty and faithfulness, which are the foundation of lasting love.

Can you tell us more about your love for sapphires and why they are a big part of your anniversary celebration?

Sapphires represent everything I believe jewelry should be: durable enough to last forever, beautiful enough to make hearts skip, and meaningful enough to pass down through families. For our 50th anniversary, sapphires feel perfect because they symbolize wisdom and faithfulness, just like the relationships we've built with our clients over five decades. I love that sapphires come in so many colors beyond blue; they're like love itself, always surprising you with new depths and beauty. There's something so special about knowing a sapphire engagement ring will look as stunning on a granddaughter as it did on her grandmother.
